Song On The Radio, Album Coming Soon, Live Shows In Australia Imminent...25.01.06
The first song to be given a public airing (the practice formerly known as 'a single') from the new Augie March album is a song entitled One Crowded Hour. It is currently able to be heard on the airwaves of the national youth broadcaster as well as certain community radio stations in Australia. Which is nice.
One Crowded Hour isn't available to be purchased - it wont physically be a CD single or anything old fashioned like that. It will perhaps be able to be downloaded in some form soon, we'll keep you posted.
The album itself, the third one, is entitled MOO, YOU BLOODY CHOIR, and will come out in Australia in the first half of March 2006. International friends will have to resort to importing it until local release. When is local release in the US and Europe? We'll keep you posted on that one too, but it probably won't be for several months at least. As for Augie March playing live, yes there will be some Australian shows coming up. Firstly, at the Melbourne Big Day Out at 5pm on the Local Produce Stage, Sunday January 29. That will be one crowded hour. Hahahahah. Ha. Then there will be a small single launch in Melbourne and then one in Sydney, in mid to late February, dates revealed here very soon. And then the band are playing a full headline show as part of the superb Perth Festival on Saturday, February 25. Tickets from BOCS Ticketing Phone (08) 9484 1133 or www.perthfestival.com.au $25 + BF. Note that this is a full headline show (around 75 mins) but the band go onstage around 8pm, and there is no support act. Also, another festival spot at the superb Melbourne Laneway Festival, Sunday February 26. This is the Laneway's second year and it was a hugely popular and highly regarded last year. Tickets are $66 - details from www.stjeromesguidetosummer.com That's about the ballgame for now, there is a video for 'One Crowded Hour' made by the sublime nice trees folks that will be on the TV and this website soon.
